Favorite Card of the Week [1.25.08-1.31.08]

I seem to like this little trend of throwing politicians into the baseball card mix.. I don't know why. Maybe because anything in trading card format is cool to me. I'm even looking forward to the 2008 Topps set which has a Campaign '08 insert set. Fun.

Favorite Card of the Week [1.18.08-1.24.08]

Michael Jordan had always been a pinnacle pull when I was a kid opening my '90-'91 Hoops packs.. and that has never changed and never will. Michael Jordan will always be the best card you can pull out of any past, present or future basketball card pack. It's exciting to see more and more MJ cards come out in current sets, including autographs!

If you think you own this card, you probably don't. The one you most likely have is numbered #282 and worth just a little less than this one. This one is from Fleer's '96-'97 European set which had a few more cards in the mix, making this one numbered #312.

Favorite Card of the Week [1.11.08-1.17.08]

I've fallen in love with this set of cards. How often does someone pull a beautiful card of the "The Georgia Peach", Ty Cobb, in ANY pack of cards since cards began? This picture is especially interesting because it looks as if he is attempting to score by using a flying kick to the crotch, a strategy which would be useless if they wore cups back then.. I don't know. LOL.. In all seriousness though, I think this is my first Ty Cobb card ever and it struck a chord with me at first sight.

Favorite Card of the Week [1.4.08-1.10.08]

This first round draft pick got off to a great start last season in Buffalo passing the 1,000 yard mark in his rookie season, making him the fourth Bills rookie to pass that mark, the first since Greg Bell in 1984. In addition, he did this while missing 3 games during the season for an ankle injury. If Marshawn continues down this path and maybe if the Bills pick up some playoff wins with him in the next few years, his rookie cards' worth have the potential to pick up a lot of momentum.
